It's always embarrasing when you put your chairs around for guest to sit on and they're stained. It finally got to me and I re-covered my chairs and it only cost me $14 bucks!

Breathing new life into something old....
I have been thinking of re-doing this table for the longest time. I inherited this table from Kim who inherited it from her mother-in-law. It was fun to see what I had in mind come to life.

Out with the old and in with the NEW!
After years of grateful service, I have traded in my old Corelle Ware. It has served my family well. I've been looking for just the right set to make the replacement. I have seen many, but most are so HEAVY. My mom and I were at Ikea heading to the exit. We took a wrong turn and ended up in the dishes section and there they were. (if this scene were in a t.v. show this is the moment when the unseen choir would sing "AAAAHHHH") They called my name and I was immediatley drawn to them. But, before I could get too excited, they had to meet certain criteria.
#1-the weight test (PASS)
#2-do they have serving bowls and a platter (PASS)
#3-can I buy additional plates and bowels besides the pre-packaged sets (PASS)
#4-are they affordable (PASS)
#5-can I convince hubby I needed them (PASS, of course. And since it's almost my birthday I had that to fall back on!)
#6- a bonus. They came packaged in a serving of 6! Most are 4. (PASS)
So, we had a winner!! The color is perfect and it matches so many of my other dishes. I love them. I'm glad we took that wrong turn in Ikea........

Scott! Shame on you!!
I borrowed this from Scott's mission president's blog.........
While visiting missionaries in Lerdo, the missionaries from Santiago Tuxtlas we also there. One of them, Elder Carter from Bakersfield, was growing his sideburns about that much too long. Mom reminded me that I had a razor in the van. So, . . . adios sideburns. Dry shaving is really fun. (I know. You are asking, "So, who shaved the front of your head?") I don't think he has enough hair on his lip to grow a moustache, and he wasn't, but what the heck. As long as we were in the neighborhood.
